This church is called Pauluskirche and it is the centre of the Paulus quarter. The Paulus quarter is a living area near the inner city. Besides religious ceremonies one can also attend concerts like Gospel music in the church. In the Paulus quarter you can see many complete streets looking like in the 19th century.
Halle was not destroyed that much during World War II like other German cities. So parts of the city are still looking like 150 years ago. There are many alleys, big squares and impressive monuments.
